Grammy Award winning songwriter, composer and pianist, Ramsey Lewis will bring his five-piece band to St. Louis to reprise his outstanding “Sun Goddess” recording as well as new compositions. The new 2011 band supporting Ramsey Lewis is composed of Chicago area musicians Henry Johnson on guitar, Tim Gant on Keyboards, Joshua Ramos on bass and Charles Heath on drums. Many, including my self, came to know the song “Sun Goddess”, when it appeared on the December 1975 Earth, Wind & Fire album release “Gratitude”. Ramsey Lewis originally released the album of the same name in 1974, which did feature Maurice and Verdine White as well as Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire. Some reports have Michael Logan on keys, but it is Tim Gant on the tour. The “Sun Goddess Tour” has been an international success which is what Ramsey Lewis’s music has been for the last 50 years.
