Okay, this show wakes me up to get back into the Blues City Review into 2012. Tons of projects have just jacked my time away from this site, but this show demands additional attention. If you have been under a rock for the last 30 years, you should find your way out into the musical sunlight for one of the world’s more talented and listenable guitarists, Eric Johnson.
Eric Johnson’s guitar talent is significantly talented across many genres from jazz to rock.
Many only know him for his “White Cliffs of Dover”, but his portfolio of great music reaches way deeper than that cut. His clear, harmonious guitar is uniquely identifiable no matter if he is playing with the likes of Joe Satriani and Stevie Vai, or fronting his own band. I could just hack the list of his accomplishments from his Wiki, but take a visit yourself after watching this clip of him playing “Manhattan”.
